Help the pigs
A Message from Judy Woods,
Founder of Pigs Peace Sanctuary

Judy

Summer is always a wonderful time here at the Sanctuary – visitors come weekly, the pigs stay cool by spending time under trees in the forest or by soaking in their ponds, and all of us enjoy a wonderful bounty from the organic gardens.

This summer will be quite different. About a week ago, I was injured while helping A 700 lb. handicapped pig here at the Sanctuary. My injuries are quite serious and complicated requiring five days of hospitalization after the accident.

It is unlikely that I will be back on my feet before winter. In the months ahead I will be unable to do the work I love. As you know, I’m not just the founder of Pigs Peace. I work with these special animals every day – ensuring they have the best care, the cleanest pens and meadows, and the freshest hay for their beds.

I am grateful for the generosity and support over the years. Today with my injury all support helps keep the vital work here alive and the pigs cared for.
